The $10 or $5 charge is only a "temporary" credit hold/pre-authorization/reserve on your account from the bank to make sure you have enough funds to cover your purchase. You may also see this at the gas station, a hotel, or even Walmart. Within 1-3 days, you will see that you are only charged the amount you spent.
Think of it as a security deposit. When you swipe you card at the machine, we don't know how much you will spend on this visit. The security deposit ensures there are enough funds to handle your laundry cost. The deposit will be released or adjusted to reflect the final amount once your laundry is finished.
You may see a second $10 security deposit/hold if you use up the first $10 amount. Sometimes the bank may even leave the $10 amounts and just add to it to equal the amount you spent.

Top-Load washers work for very small amounts of laundry. Front load washers are able to clean larger amounts of clothes and do a better job of cleaning. Plus, they are gentler on your clothes due to the tumbling action. Front-load washers are better valued, using less soap and are more environmentally friendly.
Front load washers should only be filled 3/4 full. Overloading the washer means the clothing will be less clean. Clothes need friction to remove dirt. However, when clothes are packed in too tightly, they don't have the freedom to move around. Therefore, they don't get clean. Sometimes you may even notice that the water doesn't get to all of the clothes. Speaking of water, front load machines use less water and rely on gravity and tub rotation to tumble clothes through a small amount of water -- so don't overload!
Front load machines are eco-friendly and are made to use less water and rely on gravity and tub rotation to tumble clothes through a small amount of water. They should only be filled 3/4 full to allow for clothing to tumble in and out of the shallow pool of water at the bottom of the drum. Sometimes you can't see the water through the window as your clothes are washing. That's okay. Your items are getting clean ... as long as you didn't overload.
YES. Our Ft. Thomas location is open everyday of the year, 24 hours a day, even holidays. We never close!

Yes. Anything left at our laundromats is bagged and saved for 30 days, then donated to local charities. Please note, we do not recommend leaving your laundry unattended at any time.
Our customers are always telling us how clean the place is! We wipe down surfaces multiple times a day, as well as mopping and vacuuming. We have a dedicated cleaner who takes care of both stores. We take pride in cleanliness.
Absolutely! Just make sure to place them INSIDE the drum before you load your laundry and NOT in the soap dispenser. Otherwise, there will be a mess in the soap drawer and your clothes will not get clean.
We recommend you come during the week to avoid the crowds on weekends. The slowest days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight at our Ft. Thomas location is always an option too.
As a general rule, we do not recommend this. The laundromat is unattended so there is no one to watch your clothes if you should leave. Remember, we are not responsible for lost laundry.
Our washers take approximately 25-30 minutes and dryers about 20-25 minutes. That's laundry finished in an hour. You can't do that at home!
A good amount to use is 1/4 cup of detergent. Anything more than this and the soap does not get washed out of your clothing, leaving behind a soapy residue. Remember, more soap is NOT always best.
